Child - School Concerns:

My many years as a school counselor and extensive years as a psychotherapist,  gives me over 25 years of successful understanding of how schools work.  I know the essential strategies to improve your child's grades. I will partner with you to strengthen your child's ability to deal with bullying, anxiety, worry, improve behavior and to gain life skills. I understand the gifted child and am certified to work with gifted children.

 

Dual Expertise in Counseling

I have training and extensive experiences as a Counseling Psychologist, both in the Caribbean and in the United States . My dual role as both therapist and school counselor makes me an expert with an extensive and unique perspective.

So apart from knowing what children need to thrive in the school setting and I know techniques and strategies to help parents, families and individuals become their best selves.  

 

I use  a variety of modalities including Positive Psychology interventions, narrative therapy, family systems strategies in particular the family tree or  genograms,  cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), and EFT (Tapping ).

 

I treat patients suffering from anxiety, abandonment, attachment issues, loss, grief, depression, lack of purpose and meaning, spiritual disconnect, and trauma, including generational trauma rooted in family histories.
